The A1 mixes front of house: what the audience hears. The monitor engineer mixes what the band hears on stage, in wedges or in-ear monitors, usually from a second console at the side of the stage. Smaller shows often run monitors from the FOH desk; bigger stages split the two jobs.
Yes. Engineers travel for fly-in dates, regional runs and full tours. Gear rentals, crew and delivery cover Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.
Yes. Most of the job is walking into a house system: we check the PA, tune it by ear where the venue allows, and mix on the house console.
Either. We work on the house or festival desk, or bring a Behringer WING Compact with a Midas DL32 stagebox so the show file travels with you and sounds the same every night.
